Masih Tazhibi

Co-founder & Editor-in-Chief

Masih is a student at Columbia University studying Neuroscience on the pre-medical track. At UCLA, he interned at the Soroudi Lasik and Eye Center and co-authored multiple scientific publications in Biological Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, and Nature Neuropsychopharmacology. At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Masih is amongst the first team in the world to apply Focused Ultrasound (FUS) blood brain barrier opening in the treatment of pediatric brain tumors. He hopes to consolidate his interests by pursuing neurological surgery.

Jake Gray

Jake is a student at Columbia University majoring in Philosophy, hoping to specialize in moral and political philosophy. He is passionate about political activism, criminal justice reform, and social responsibility, and hopes to pursue those interests through graduate school.

Jessica Lin

Jessica is a student at Columbia University majoring in American Studies. Outside of class, Jessica interns at a NYC-based employment law firm and mentors underserved students at both the elementary and high school levels. She is passionate about advancing equity in higher education, as well as justice in the workplace, and plans to advocate for those issues through a career in law.

Houman Tazhibi

Houman is a medical student at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. Outside of school, he likes to practice photography (especially astrophotography), go indoor rock climbing, and read works by Carl Sagan. 

Catalina Rodriguez


Catalina is a Colombian immigrant pursuing Economics at Columbia University. She navigated the U.S. legal system on her journey to citizenship and aspires to aid other immigrants through legal processes. Catalina is passionate about social justice issues and often advocates for the needs of marginalized communities. She conducted research on the political effects of an unregulated nano-technology sector in Latin American countries. Additionally, she interned for the Colombian Ambassador to Hong Kong and gained an in-depth understanding of Colombian, Chinese, and Taiwanese political relations. Remaining in touch with her Latin American heritage, Catalina is an executive board member of Sabor: Columbia’s Latinx Dance Troupe, in charge of outreach programs aiding underrepresented students through college admissions.
